VOTE FOR 21

Vote by mail has been extended to

April 28, 2020.

IF I ALREADY VOTED BY MAIL OR IN PERSON AT THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS, WILL MY VOTE BE COUNTED?

Yes, if you already cast a ballot in person or by mail, it will be counted. Voting has been extended for those who did not have the opportunity to vote when polling locations were closed for in-person voting on March 17.

WHAT’S THE DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE?

Voter registration has not been extended. The deadline to register to vote and/or update your voting address for the Ohio Primary 2020 election was 9pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.

HOW CAN I CHECK IF I AM ALREADY REGISTERED, OR IF SOMEONE I KNOW IS?

You can confirm voter registration status online.

HOW DO I VOTE BY MAIL?

Any registered Franklin County voter that has not already cast a ballot in the Primary Election can request an application to vote by mail by calling 614-525-3470 or by downloading, filling out, printing, signing, and mailing the application to the Board of Elections. You can access the application here.

Applications also can be delivered to the Board of Elections (1700 Morse Rd, Columbus, OH 43229) and placed in the available receptacle located inside the vestibule between the sets of glass doors.

WHAT ELECTION DATE DO I PUT ON MY APPLICATION?

The Secretary of State indicates that 03/17/20 is still the correct election date to fill-in on your vote-by-mail application. However, as long as you select Primary Election, applications with another date will still be processed if the remainder of the required information is included on the request.

WHAT’S THE DEADLINE TO REQUEST MY VOTE-BY-MAIL BALLOT?

Applications for vote-by-mail ballots must be received by the Board of Elections by noon on Saturday, April 25.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE TO RETURN MY COMPLETED BALLOT?

Your completed ballot must be post-marked by Monday, April 27, and received by the Board of Elections no later than May 8. When you receive your ballot by mail from the Board of Elections, it will include prepaid return postage.

Your completed ballot also can be delivered to the Board of Elections (1700 Morse Rd, Columbus, OH 43229) and placed in the available receptacle located inside the vestibule between the sets of glass doors no later than 7:30pm on April 28th.

CAN I STILL VOTE IN PERSON?

For almost everyone, the answer is No.

In-person voting is limited to a few exceptions: those with visual impairment, some other specified disability, and those unable to receive mail at the place where they reside. Eligible voters will be permitted to vote in person on April 28 (until 7:30pm) at the Franklin County Board of Elections, 1700 Morse Rd, Columbus, OH 43229

If you properly requested an absentee ballot by the April 25 noon deadline and you did not receive your ballot prior to April 28, you may go to the Board of Elections on April 28 during in-person voting hours for assistance.
