Student Loan Help

According to a recent report in Time magazine, more than 25% of students who take on college debt are graduating with way too much of it. Today, student loan debt exceeds credit card debt and auto loans and it passed the $1 trillion mark in 2012. The average student loan debt at graduation has been growing steadily for 20 years. In 1993-94, about half of bachelor’s degree recipients graduated with debt, averaging a little more than $10,000. This year, more than two-thirds of college graduates graduated with debt, and their average debt at graduation was about $35,000, tripling in two decades. As a result a growing number of Americans are struggling to repay their loans.

If you are one of them and answer "YES" to any of the following questions, it's time to discuss your student loans with the credit lawyers at Betras, Kopp & Harshman:

  • Have you defaulted on a your student loans?

  • Are your wages currently garnished?

  • Are bill collectors calling you about your student loans?

  • Are thinking about bankruptcy and wondering if you qualify for a discharge of your student loan debt?

We can help you resolve your student loan defaults and get you back on track. We begin by reviewing your situation and determing the options that are best for you. Then we work to stop wage garnishments and arrange  manageable monthly payments.
